Democracy and capitalism tend to strengthen each other, across countries and over time, but not always. Dr. Raghuram Rajan describes the peculiar confluence of forces that are causing a wedge between democratic forces and markets today and why this is being expressed in the political movements we see. He argues that to preserve what is good in the global system of trade and finance, we need countries, especially large emerging markets, to step up and take leadership to move the dialogue forward. At the same time, industrial countries have to pay attention to domestic political demands to slow, or reverse, globalization and find ways to make angry citizens less anxious about the future. Dr. Rajan will discuss some policy options that could address these wide-ranging and impactful issues.

Few of those covering Washington have a closer viewpoint into the up-to-the-minute maneuverings of those shaping the national debate than CNN’s Manu Raju, a journalist who has cultivated sources whose decisions are directly impacting the future of this country.

From the perspective of a reporter who is on the scene every day to report on developments with consequences that extend far outside the Beltway, Raju offers audiences candid and sober insight into how the collision of personality and politics in D.C. can impact the lives of millions. With first-hand stories that will illuminate and entertain, audiences will better understand what goes into generating the types of headlines that serve as the first draft of history.

Drawing on his book The Will to Lead, Anders Fogh Rasmussen fiercely defends freedom and the importance of America’s global leadership, offering an astute analysis of current geopolitical events. From the Iranian nuclear deal, to the invasion of Ukraine, to the Arab Spring and turmoil in the Middle East, Rasmussen is forceful but even-handed in his sharp analysis of the decisions made by the U.S. government, comparing those of recent American leaders. Drawing on his own experiences as Prime Minister of Denmark and Secretary General of NATO, he examines President Trump’s potential to stabilize American politics and to restore reliable American leadership to the world stage in the coming years. Warning against American isolationism, he explores the geopolitical risks as well as the opportunities the Trump Administration will bring. Weaving together wisdom, history, and his personal experiences, this presentation will captivate audiences.

Two political parties that have no constitutional right to be the only organizations that control the American government have dominated American politics for decades. Billionaire Peter Ackerman and Dylan Ratigan are on a crusade to make American politics more competitive by opening up the Presidential Debate stage and changing the way people vote. In this speech Dylan explains how they are going to do it.

As founder of Helical Holdings, Ratigan knows first hand the ability for modern resource technology to secure the world. In this speech he tells stories of his travels in China, Myanmar, the Middle East and rural North America to provide evidence of just how valuable large networks of solar powered, hydroponic farming systems can be to resolve poverty, create jobs and improve health.

How America succeeds amid global uncertainties, structural economic changes, currency fluctuations and a challenging political environment.

Financial news anchor and columnist Trish Regan helps you interpret the multitude of headlines coming out of Washington to enable you to better understand the economic opportunities and challenges we currently face. Regan examines the actual policy changes that will impact our economy, our markets, and our future. From tax reform to infrastructure spending, global trade agreements, regulation changes, higher interest rates, growing debt and global instability, Regan provides in-depth, thoughtful analysis on the most up-to-date news stories that will affect the nation and your future.

U.S. wages are at their lowest level in more than 20 years and workers are growing tired of a stagnant economy. Globalization, coupled with structural economic changes, have created an environment that often rewards capital at a greater rate than it does labor – and workers around the world are, increasingly, saying “enough!” From Brexit to the U.S. election, middle class workers are making their voices heard. Trish Regan examines the policies that need to be enacted now to help change the fate of U.S. workers and strengthen our middle class, while simultaneously encouraging companies to invest in the world’s greatest economy.
