As president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, Richard Fisher worked at the center of a national dialogue to shape economic policy and maintain economic stability not only in the Dallas region but also throughout the nation. Facing critical economic and financial challenges during one of the most tumultuous times in the country since the Great Depression, Fisher became nationally recognized for his unique and intimate approach as well as his vocal and unequivocally candid commentary. Fisher additionally served as member of the Federal Reserve’s principal monetary policymaking group, the Federal Open Market Committee, and was chair of the Conference of Federal Reserve Bank Presidents where he oversaw the shared operations of the 12 Federal Reserve Banks. Prior to his tenure at the Fed, Fisher held distinguished leadership positions including vice-chairman of the strategic advisory firm Kissinger McLarty Associates and senior advisor of Fisher Capital Management (FCM) Investors in Dallas, an investment and advisory firm that he founded. He also served as assistant to the Secretary of the Treasury during the Carter Administration, and was senior manager of Texas investment management and corporate finance operations for the private bank of Brown Brothers Harriman & Co.
