Living Faith Out Loud in America

How can people live their faiths publicly without trampling on the rights of others? What is the boundary between religious expression and personal freedom? Minority Men and the American Future

Joshua DuBois, who led President Obama’s fatherhood and mentoring initiative and authored the groundbreaking Newsweek cover story, “The Fight for Black Men,” discusses the state of minority men in America and why their future impacts us all.

Meet Joshua DuBois

Having developed one of the country’s largest networks of faith-based and nonprofit relationships, Joshua DuBois shares with audiences his expertise in creating and leveraging bold initiatives addressing diversity in the workplace, community outreach and development, mobilizing youth, and religion in the public square.

Joshua DuBois is one of the country’s leading speakers on diversity in the workplace, community outreach and development, mobilizing youth, and religion in the public square. Called President Obama’s “Pastor-in-Chief” by TIME magazine, he was the youngest-ever director of the White House Office of Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships in President Obama’s first term. He was responsible for managing the federal government’s partnerships with faith-based and other nonprofit organizations on a range of critical policy issues, from responsible fatherhood to anti-human trafficking to religion in foreign affairs; assisted in structuring the federal government’s multimillion-dollar responsible fatherhood programs; and created new programs with faith-based communities on workforce development, public school partnerships and other issues. He is the author of the best-selling book, The President's Devotional (2013), and several cover stories for Newsweek magazine, including “The Secret Faith of Washington” and “The Fight for Black Men,” which historian Taylor Branch called “stunning.” Today, DuBois is a founding partner of Values Partnerships, which helps foundations, nonprofits and private companies partner with the faith community to solve big challenges. His work has been featured in The New York Times and The Washington Post and on CNN, MSNBC, ABC News, FOX News and PBS, just to name a few. For organizations looking for a speaker to address diversity, community outreach, youth engagement or political mobilization, DuBois is a perfect selection for your event.
